Background

When bringing a new product to market, package design often makes the difference between runaway success and a short-lived shelf life. Desert Spring’s Rotary Disc humidifier not only featured a revolutionary new technology but had also secured distribution through Home Depot.

The only thing holding back sales was a poorly conceived package design and a price that was well above its nearest competitor in the humidifier category.

A vibrant new product identity was created to instantly convey the product’s high value and demonstrate its key features and benefits. Emphasis was placed on clearly explaining their unique patented technology and showing how the product’s performance far surpasses anything currently on the market.

Results

Within one year of introducing the new packaging, without any advertising or promotions, sales increased ten-fold. In the words of the retailers, the sales increases are “a direct result of the new packaging.”

Desert Spring Products has since secured distribution with RONA in Canada, True-Value in the United States and Canada, as well as Lowe’s Home Improvement stores throughout the US.
