Background

As one of Western Canada’s top audio-post facilities, Ear Candy works for a wide variety of advertising agencies and film production companies, producing thousands of audio files for dozens of clients each year.

Strut’s Solution

Strut designed a comprehensive database-driven web application which stores and organizes final mix tracks associated with every project. To facilitate this, Strut built an administration system which manages projects electronically, replacing Ear Candy’s existing paper-based docket filing system.

Clients are provided with a login ID, allowing them access to all of their current and archived projects. Users can search for, and listen to, any track using an integrated audio player. They can even download final mix files to their computer. Project details including voice artist, session dates and recording notes are also stored and displayed along with the tracks.

Results

The system provides the flexibility of a web application, while still offering a rich interface. Ear Candy’s staff is much more productive. With all project management functions available online, admin staff can now call up information while they are on the phone with clients. Ear Candy’s clients are thrilled, since they can now directly access every project Ear Candy has ever produced for them, day or night.
