Molson Cold Shots

MMVA Sponsorship Ad

Molson Canadian Cold Shots are a relatively new and innovative product. With a small can, and a higher than average strength, Cold Shots have carved out a unique niche in the twenty-something market. 

Strut developed a 30 second television spot to highlight Molson's participation in the 2009 MuchMusic video Awards -- the hottest place for a brand to connect with consumers at a time in their life when they are forming strong relationships with new brands.

Razer Specialty Network

Launch Ad for New Network Identity

In 2008 Strut developed an all new on-air identity package for the Razer network. Built around a "meat circus" theme, the brand was designed to convey the unique and eclectic programming they offer.

To launch the new identity Strut developed a 30 second ad which takes viewers on a fictitious historical journey through the evolution of the brand, starting from the early days of television.

Promo for Holiday Programming

MuchMusic's Holiday Wrap is a year-end programming package that showcases the best and worst that celebrities had to offer over the past 12 months and replays some of the most popular celebrity-related shows.

Strut's animated spot drew inspiration from the venerable Charlie Brown Christmas Special and featured appearances by Kanye West, The Jonas Brothers, and more. It was chosen as a finalist at the 2010 Promax|BDA awards.

Veterans' Week Campaign

MuchMusic Veterans’ Week celebrates the sacrifices of Canada’s war veterans. With an audience consisting primarily of teenagers and young adults, Much is a major source of information for the social network generation.

Playing off the social networking theme, Strut developed two TV spots to air during Veterans’ Week. Using a computer screen as the canvas, the spots feature a series of status updates, posts, comments, blogs, and videos about “rocking the poppy”, and remembering our veterans, encouraging viewers to remember any way they want.

MuchMusic Video On Trial

Main Title Sequence & Packaging

Video On Trial is a long-running favorite for MuchMusic viewers. The series features pop culture experts who dish out their witty analysis of music videos with scathing and candid commentary -- not to mention a heap of judgement.

After almost ten years on the air MuchMusic was looking for a refresh, but wanted to make sure the show retained it's essence, and audience. Strut delivered with all new sequences and elements, while retaining the frenetic energy that's become the show's trademark.

Network Identity / Branding

Dedicated to the music of the 80s and 90s, MuchMoreRetro is uniquely styled for those who grew up watching their music on television. MuchMoreRetro is the source for classic videos from The Police to Nirvana and everything in between.

Strut was tasked with developing the brand. We created sequences that let the audience reminisce. The station IDs and promo packaging incorporate 80s icons like video games, ghetto blasters and even a "Speek & Spel" spouting 80s catch words. A subscriber spot was shot replicating the Thriller video with a mini Michael Jackson.

Razer Specialty Network

Razer is a digital cable specialty network owned by CTVglobemedia with a loyal following among 12-20 year olds across Canada. Their eclectic programming mix spans everything from Pee Wee's Playhouse to cutting edge Anime.

To keep this unique, high-energy network fresh and relevant to their audience, they turned to Strut. An all new on-air identity package was developed using meat, and the circus freak show as inspiration.

MuchMusic disBAND

Main Title Sequence & Packaging

MuchMusic's disBAND series takes unknown and unsigned bands from across the country and gives them a shot at stardom. With help from a rock veteran they get their act together, brushing up on their craft, and the skills they'll need to make in in the music business. After playing for a panel of industry professionals, they either impress -- or "disband".

Strut designed and produced the main title sequence and packaging for the show. The intro plays up the stereotypical rock lifestyle with a television tossed from a hotel room in the early hours of the morning.
